Introduction: Why I Am (The Most) Qualified (Person in the World) To Teach You This

Heads Up: This first section is an introduction to give myself credibility as to WHY you should listen to me. If you already trust me, you can simply skip to Step 1… But the story is quite funny and entertaining, so I recommend reading. It’ll only take 3 minutes to catch you up to speed.

Arlin’s Story

I was born into a family of artists. My dad's a photographer, and my mom, she's a painter and art professor. With them around, I was drawing, playing music, and making videos as soon as I could walk.

When I got to college I watched this movie, "The Social Network," the one about Zuckerberg inventing facebook… and BAM! I knew I wanted to build something amazing… But the problem was, all my friends wanted to follow the normal path… 9-5 NPC life.

I needed to improve my social skills so that I could meet high level entrepreneurs, so that I could build cool projects, make a ton of money, and travel the world - and eventually buy an island. So - I started watching youtube videos on how to improve my social skills, as well as reading books on persuasion, psychology, and influence, AND I started investing in courses and mentors to help me improve…

There was this one guy, Owen, who was like the superhero of social skills. I was watching Owen day in and day out, and doing my homework like a detective. And he told me to write down all my social interactions into a google document, and to reflect on the pro’s and con’s of my own performance every single time I talked to someone.

So I basically began creating my own personal guide on what not to do. And i started writing journal entries every day - multiple times per day — you know, like a f—king weirdo. Ever met someone in the dining hall and had it go totally wrong? Or have you ever gotten nervous and stumbled over your words while talking to a pretty girl? That was me… Except then I would go home and write down my experiences:

For Example, here’s Journal Entry #42:

And Journal Entry #105… Apparently I had this obsession with Kate and “being high status”.
